Dynamic Threats: Giant Rolling Snowballs
The true run-killers of the deep downhill run are the rolling snowballs. Spawning higher up the slope, they descend forward while oscillating laterally: snowrider
- Predictive Routing: Never aim for where a rolling snowball is currently positioned. Identify its downhill angle and cut sharply in the opposite direction.
- The Jump Trap: Avoid jumping directly over large rolling snowballs. Their vertical hitboxes expand upward, frequently catching the underside of the sled mid-hop.
Environmental Voids: Chasms and Drop-offs
As elevation drops, the mountain splits into treacherous ravines and sudden cliffs:
- Always monitor the horizon line rather than your sled's immediate front runner. If the white snowline suddenly drops into empty sky, prepare to trigger a jump at the edge to carry momentum across the void.
- Misjudging a jump at a chasm edge leads to an instant fall-state, bypassing the collision recovery entirely.
